Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Last night I took part in a tweetchat hosted by Hilary of Craft Blog UK who called craft bloggers to join in a discussion about blogging platforms. To follow the discussion and take part we used the hashtag #cbuk. It was brilliant. For an hour from 9pm (UK time) craft bloggers joined online and discussed their preffered blogging platforms. We all learned of platforms we’d never heard of before and discussed the pros and cons of our current platforms and how easy or not it is to change from one to the other.
We also talked about Bloglovin’ and on the strength of what other craft bloggers said I decided to explore it. Now as you can see on the right I have a Bloglovin' button. Always welcome a little more blog lovin'.
I am considering whether to move my blog to another platform, something I’ve been scared of doing having seen other bloggers move from one to another only to move back. There was more than one person yesterday who said moving to Wordpress was easy. @NoisetteAcademy’s Isa Maria said she did it in 5 mins!
So you see the tweetchat really got me thinking.
As well as that I found lots of lovely people and blogs to follow and lots of lovely new followers both on my blog and on Twitter.
Plus it was fun!
If you missed it yesterday you can look over the discussion by doing a search for #cbuk or better still, click the link.
There will be another tweetchat next Sunday at 9pm (UK) - the topic is to be announced soon. Follow @CraftBlogUK to keep in touch and join in.
See you there :)

Hello! I was there last night, it was quite a party! I use Bloglovin' and have been picking up followers, it's one of the few areas where Wordpress doesn't compare with Blogger, not having a follower button. But I'm gradually picking them up with Bloglovin'.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Penny
I joined in last night too - was quite a workout for my brain and typing skills just keeping up!! Don't think I'll be moving from Blogger - I've just about got my blog how I like it & the thought of starting again... AARGGH!
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you & look forward to chatting more.

Hurray! I just posted the details of next weeks chat - it's going to be SEO tips, what has worked and what is not worth the time and effort!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it - I was trying hard to retweet posts and links!
x Hilary
SEO tips is a good topic. Not something I know much about but then that is the joy of chatting about it. Thanks Hilary.
ReplyDeletePenny I am liking Bloglovin but I didn't like the fact they made me pick 5 blogs to proceed! Still now I'm in I find it very easy to use.
Ali I know what you mean... many of my intended tweets never made it to the send button as after a while I was just following what everyone was saying. It was very stimulating. I heard all the praise for Wordpress and wonder if I should be there but I am happy with Blogger too... it's taken years to get this far :)
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteYes! It was a revelation our first tweet chat - kept thinking I must post something vaguely intelligent!!
I have just put my blog on bloglovin - apparently its the next big thing - well, its free and it didnt hurt..!
It just gives you a lift, doesnt it, to know that you are not alone, and there are lots of other friendly artists out there with encouraging words?!
Must get on with some actual work!!
Cheers
Felicity
I must agree with you Felicity, the tweetchat has benefitted us all in lots of ways. Really looking forward to hearing how craft bloggers use SEO. I try reading about it but then I get bored and prefer to make something instead.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Pearletta.
